Managing scan logs

Under "Log Console" in the bottom of N-Stalker's scan interface, you will find a series of tabs that holds technical information about the scan's progress, including events, components and debug entries.

 

Scan Modules Tab

"Scan Modules" tab allows you to follow progress of all security assessment modules executed by N-Stalker's scanner engine, providing relevant information on the total number of security checks to be executed and the current counter.

 

Components Tab

"Components" tab will hold a list of all relevant components found during the scanner engine's assessment, including Server-side technologies, Web Server platforms, Authentication areas, etc.

 

Scan Events Tab

"Scan Events" tab is a list of all relevant log events generated by N-Stalker's scanner engine. If you right-click over it, you may invoke the following controls:

Auto-scroll

This will automatically refresh console screen, keeping track of the last event generated by N-Stalker (without the need to manually scroll).

Enable Debug

This option will enable "Debug Details" tab which will bring a list of detailed debug events generated by N-Stalker's scanner engine.

Export Log to a file

This option allows you to export all log information to a text file. This is useful to submit specific information to N-Stalker's support team.

 

 

Module Events Tab

"Module Events" tab is a list of all module-based log events generated by N-Stalker's scanner engine. If you right-click over it, you may invoke the same controls as "Scan Events" tab.

Debug Details Tab

"Debug Details" tab is a list of all debug-based log events generated by N-Stalker's scanner engine. It must manually be activated through the context menu option "Enable Debug". See above items (Scan Event/Module Events tab).
